Meet Kaitlyn

My Story

I worked in nonprofit community mental health organizations that took me into the community with a focus on teens, moms, families, crisis intervention, and navigating the systematic violence of poverty and our institutions. I coordinated care and resources alongside schools, hospitals, government agencies, and other nonprofits. I worked on a team of dedicated, diverse clinicians that shaped my practice and life.

I was drawn to therapy early in life due to my beliefs around leaving the world a better place than I found it. I wanted a livelihood that encourages living with compassion, integrity, and growth that gives me sense of purpose and ethical alignment. I find it to be very meaningful, and always hope I contribute positively to the world even if it just helps one person.

Outside of work, I enjoy getting lost in a book, creating or researching art, embroidering, playing games, cooking and baking for others, jamming out to music, and spending time with my two corgis.

We live in an absurd world!

We often encounter societal expectations dictating how life should be and how we should think and feel. These experiences can result in suffering: overwhelm, isolation, meaninglessness, and feeling stuck or broken. While we can't alter our experiences, we can transform our relationship with them—redefining their significance and approaching them differently.

I believe you have the inherent qualities needed to be your best self, even if they are temporarily obscured for various reasons. My aim is to offer support and a nurturing space for your growth. You have a right to wholeness, respect, and to be listened to.

My Approach

My approach draws from an eclectic blend of theories and practices. Together, we will question and challenge prevailing social, cultural, religious, and other narratives while exploring how past and present relationships shape your sense of self and patterns of connection. Through this process, we will work to reconnect you with your inner strength, wisdom, perspective, and values, fostering more authentic and fulfilling relationships in your life.

You should expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you are fully accepted and heard. The goal of this work is to try to facilitate self-discovery, building and creating trust that you have the inner resources to grow, have resilience in difficult times, make meaningful changes, and cultivate joy. This approach develops self-acceptance and compassion, personal wisdom, and alignment with one’s authentic self.

I strongly value kindness and radical compassion, authenticity, humor, free and accessible education, helping community, and always staying curiosity and creative. We have responsibility to each other.

Specialization

I love creating a space for those who support others—therapists, teachers, nurses, moms, and other care professionals and emotional laborers—to process their own experiences and seek support they so often give to others. I am passionate about the struggles of those who are women/fem folks and the LGBT+ community.
